Beta-ton
Beta-ton is a multi-recyclable material. In art schools, students will always make prototypes and produce a lot of waste material. In this project, we tried to close the recycling chain of material and make it a “loop”. After a lot of material-research, we finally found the combination of polystyrene foam and sandblasting-waste is the best. So, Beta-ton was created! It is very like concrete but can be hot-bended and used in very thin sheets. It offers designers new possibilities in using the aesthetic features of concrete but in a more flexible way. It can be cut, punched and bonded. After use, it can be dissolved in acetone and formed again.
